Overview

The Columbia River Maritime Museum was founded in 1962 to preserve the rich maritime heritage of the entire Columbia River region. It was the first museum in Oregon to meet national accreditation standards, and is designated the official state maritime museum of Oregon.

The Museum has the largest collection of Pacific Northwest maritime artifacts in the country.

The Museum’s Barbey Maritime Center houses classes, workshops and demonstrations of skills and trades relevant to the maritime culture of the Columbia River.

The Museum is a private nonprofit museum supported by visitors and contributors like you. The Museum is not funded by tax dollars.
